La Cañada High School senior standout Tsehay Driscoll advanced all the way to the CIF singles semifinals before losing to Mika Ikemori of Huntington Beach’s Marina High, 4-6, 6-3, 6-2, last Thursday.
Driscoll, who is ranked No. 8 in Southern California and No. 38 nationally, was eliminated by last year’s singles finalist after a three-hour match.
Driscoll defeated Emily Ing of Wilson High of Hacienda Heights, 7-6, 6-4, in the quarterfinals, after routing Nicole Gorbacheva of Beverly Hills, 6-1, 6-2, in the round of 16 last Wednesday. She previously defeated Chloe McBride of Woodland Hills Louisville, 6-0, 6-2, and Ava McCollum of Marlborough High of Los Angeles, 6-1, 6-3, in the first two rounds.
