La Cañada Elementary School recently introduced its Spartan-Lion Saturday Squad series, which was hosted by librarian Billie Melillo, alongside teacher Lisa Fungo.
The squad was made up of 7th and 8th grade students who were joined by 2nd- through 6th-graders for a relaxed Saturday morning of games, crafts and snacks in the school’s library.
The older students enjoyed playing board games with the young Lions and all said they would be back for the upcoming sessions.
The Spartan-Lion Saturday Squad will meet again on March 11 and April 15, from 9 to 10:30 a.m. Students need to sign up at bmelillo@lcusd.net.
