Four students from each La Cañada Flintridge elementary school — La Cañada Elementary, Paradise Canyon Elementary and Palm Crest Elementary — recently participated in the district spelling bee.
PCY’s Eunice Shey won first place and PCR’s Caroline Chen won second place. The winning word was “tournament.”
In attendance to cheer on the young spellers were LCE Principal Emily Blaney, PCR Principal Amy Marcoulier and PCY Principal Carie Hetzel, who coordinated the event.
