Rose Parade Float Needs a Name

Here we are in April! Oh, so much is going on. This past month has been busy!
The float selection committee has settled upon and submitted a float design. So, without further delay, may I present the LCFTRA 2024 Rose Parade entry: TO BE NAMED.
That’s right, we don’t have a title/name for our float yet. This year we will hold a community contest to name our float — another first for us. The rendering will be up on our website shortly (lcftra.org). If you can’t wait, drop me a note to ask for a preview.
The Rose Parade theme is “Celebrating a World of Music. The Universal Language.” To that extent, our float depicts a walk down memory lane of a unique era in American music and history.
This float will focus on floral excellence. It’s going to be another one to be proud of!
I wish to take this opportunity to remind all that we are the dream-makers. We create from nothing — usually nothing more than a rough napkin sketch along with more than a few wild ideas in conversation, to achieve these builds. It takes varied disciplines of skill and imagination to craft one of these.
We follow a DREAM work ethic:
Design, Research, Engineer, Art and Make. It takes all that, and more, that DREAM is at our core, and is what allows the magic to happen. It is also an important symbiotic relationship across our collective disciplines.
This extends to all of our major process “buckets”: construction, administration, fundraising and public relations. So, don’t be bashful, I can assure you, whatever your skillset, it has a home here.
We have a rockin’ team of unique talent. If the above clicks with you, or with someone you know — if you fancy yourself a DREAMer, we want to hear from you! If you think this big ol’ hotrod has designs on your inner tinkerer, or you want to learn or teach a new skill, please come by or call and let’s get you dirty. JOIN US!
