Citation Rise Leaves Sheriff’s Station Busy

The Crescenta Valley Sheriff’s Station’s deputies were busy this past weekend proactively enforcing the vehicle code.
The station posted on their Facebook page that they issued more than 20 moving citations and several other citations for equipment violations. The post said that many of the moving violations were for excessive speed, running stop signs and crossing double yellow lines. Citations were issued for modified exhaust systems, with many of the vehicles requiring a smog referee inspection.
The “most egregious violation,” according to the post, was when a motorist drove 115 mph on the freeway. The driver was cited for following too close, speeding, unsafe lane changes and reckless driving. The vehicle was impounded due to the violations.
“Our station would like to remind the public to slow down and obey all traffic laws,” the post read. “As we progress into summer, we will be actively monitoring our patrol area for all vehicle code violations.”
