LCHS, St. Francis End 2023 Seasons

The La Cañada High School varsity boys’ lacrosse team lost its season finale at Viewpoint High in Calabasas, 13-7, in a Gold Coast League game last Thursday.
Junior Dylan Jeffries racked up five goals and three ground balls, sophomore Conor Roehmholdt registered one goal, two assists and 10 ground balls, senior Andrew Moon won 14 face-offs with one assist and one ground ball, and senior Kyle McKinney made 17 saves. Senior Jake Jewell tallied one goal and three ground balls while junior Thomas Sorensen finished with one assist and two ground balls. Junior Keshav Fernando recorded six ground balls, junior Mac Reese, sophomore Spencer Turner and sophomore Tristan Connolly each had two ground balls and sophomore Finn Valderhaug produced one shot on goal and two ground balls. Meanwhile, senior Jacob Butier, junior Peter Tripathi, sophomore River Wokosin and freshman Parker Weightman each added one ground ball.
The Spartans previously picked up a 13-10 league victory over visiting Heritage Christian High of Northridge. Sorensen racked up four goals, two assists and six ground balls, Jewell registered four goals and six ground balls, and Valderhaug scored three goals with three ground balls. Roehmholdt recorded two goals and five ground balls, Moon tallied 19 face-off wins and two ground balls, and McKinney made 11 saves. Junior Mason O’Brien, sophomore Everett Hernandez and Reese each collected five ground balls, junior Cayden Klein, Butier, Jeffries, Weightman, McKinney and Connolly each had one ground ball, and sophomore Garrett Walling went 1-for-2 in face-off attempts.
LCHS finished the season fifth in league with a 3-9 record (5-13 overall).

ST. FRANCIS

The Golden Knights were edged at Harvard-Westlake in Studio City, 6-5, in a Mission League Tournament game on April 18.
Andrew Giesler scored two goals with six ground balls while Ezekiel Peraza registered two goals and five ground balls. Jayden Piques tallied one goal and one ground ball while Axel Gonzalez was credited with a pair of assists. Carlo Binda made 10 saves while Jett McCullough and Myles Henry each finished with three ground balls. Ryan James and Landon Segal each collected two ground balls while Dustin Bell had one ground ball.
SFHS finished the campaign sixth in league with a 2-4 record (6-11 overall).
