Lutheran Church Celebrates Mother’s Day, Introduces Pastoral Candidate

Mother’s Day will be in full celebration at Lutheran Church in the Foothills on Sunday, May 14.
During the 10 a.m. worship, there will be special recognition to all women and prayer for all motherhood situations.
Sunday worship will be led by the Rev. Charles “Chuck” Bunnell. LCIF has enjoyed the care of Bunnell as interim pastor these past two years. On Sunday, May 21, Bunnell will be joined by the Rev. Richard “Rick” Hall at worship as part of discerning who will be LCIF’s next pastor.
Hall grew up in Colorado Springs, Colorado. He graduated from Adams State College in 1995 with a degree in history, government and philosophy, and secondary education. He also earned his Master of Divinity from Luther Seminary in 2011. He has served at churches in Wisconsin, North Dakota, and most recently, in Fresno, California.
Hall is married to his wife, Cathy, of 24 years. They have two children, Max and Copper. The community is invited to hear from Pastor Rick during 10 a.m. worship on May 21 and stay for fellowship afterward. There is a congregational meeting on June 4 to consider pastoral leadership.
Bunnell, in the meantime, continues to serve and is available to anyone needing help, including visitation at home or in the hospital. The congregation is especially grateful for Bunnell for coming out of retirement to serve LCIF during the lengthy call process.
Visit lcifoothills.org for event details. For more information or to request/offer help, email office@lcifoothills.org, or call (818) 790-1951. The church is located at 1700 Foothill Blvd. in La Cañada Flintridge. Office hours are 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., Monday through Friday.
