Sheriff’s Crime Log

A deputy responded to a call about a vehicle burglary from the Crescenta Valley Station Lobby in the 900 block of Town Center Drive on July 16 at 5:26 p.m. The victim made a quick stop to use the restroom and parked and locked his 2011 red Kia Optima in a Target parking lot. When he returned to his vehicle, he discovered the inside of the vehicle had been ransacked and noticed that his Valentine radar device was taken from the center console. After inspecting the vehicle, the deputy discovered the driver’s side of the vehicle was damaged using an unknown tool. There was no other damage to the vehicle. Since there was no footage available for the deputy to review, he formed an opinion that the suspects entered and exited the vehicle through the front driver’s side door.

A petty theft was reported in the 400 block of Starlight Crest Drive between 2:28 a.m. and 2:30 a.m. on July 13. While reviewing home surveillance camera footage, the victim saw three men wearing gloves exit a black, four-door sedan approach his BMW and Range Rover that were parked in his driveway. Simultaneously, the three suspects rummaged through the two vehicles. A pair of Tom Ford glasses from the BMW and a pair of Tom Ford sunglasses along with money from the Range Rover were discovered missing.

A bag was taken from a vehicle between Oakwood Avenue and Foothill Boulevard on July 11 between 1 p.m. and 2:30 p.m. After parking her 2020 Honda RAV-4, the victim, who suspects she didn’t lock the doors, left her shoulder bag inside the vehicle on the front passenger side seat. To conceal the bag, she placed her sweater on top of it. Later that day, she received a notification from Bank of America on her phone that alerted her to unusual transactions made using her debit card. When she returned to her vehicle, the victim noticed that her glove compartment was open, and her shoulder bag had been stolen. She then checked her credit card activity on her phone and discovered unauthorized usage. She reported the incident to her credit card providers, and they placed a hold on the stolen credit cards.

A deputy responded to a petty theft call in the 900 block of Foothill Boulevard on July 15 between 12:30 p.m. and 1 p.m. At HomeGoods, a victim noticed her wallet was missing when she went to pay for her items. She cancelled all her credit cards that were allegedly stolen, and while on the phone, Bank of America confirmed that an unauthorized purchase was made on one of her cards.
