The La Cañada Baseball Softball Association’s 12-and-under Cooperstown team recently completed a highly successful five-month season, posting a 31-15 record and finishing the campaign as the No. 2 PONY team in the West. The large PONY region includes the states of Alaska, Arizona, California, Colorado, Hawaii, Idaho, Montana, Oregon, Utah, Washington and Wyoming.
The team’s season highlights included:
- Two NCS (travel ball) tournament championships
- Four runner-up NCS tournament finishes
- Continuing their four-year streak of winning the La Cañada Summer Smash by going 4-0 that weekend and outscoring their opponents 29-0
- Representing their community in Cooperstown, New York; and advancing further in the PONY tournament than in previous seasons to reach the West Zone Finals and being one win away from advancing to the International World Series
