Sheriff’s Crime Log

Deputies responded to a burglary alarm going off in the 900 block of Foothill Boulevard on Aug. 2 at 4:28 a.m. Upon arrival, deputies discovered a shattered glass door on the north side of the property and cleared the location to ensure there were no suspects inside. They found an opened cash register and photographed the damage. After reviewing video surveillance, the deputies noted that the north side glass door was the only unsecured area of the business, which is where the suspect entered and exited.

A grand theft was reported in the 900 block of Town Center Drive on Aug. 1 between 11:43 a.m. and 12:15 p.m. The victim said her wallet was stolen by an unknown male wearing a baseball cap and brown jacket, carrying a black backpack. The victim remembered putting her purse across the back of a dining chair and believes that is when the suspect opened her purse and stole her wallet, which contained her driver’s license, money and credit cards. A witness observed that the suspect sat at the nearest table and chair to the victim, and placed his backpack behind his chair and began to dig through it. Deputies tried to review surveillance footage, but the employee did not have access to it.

A deputy responded to a petty theft report in the 800 block of Foothill Boulevard on Aug. 1 at 6:50 p.m. The general manager of the business told the deputy that an unknown male suspect entered the location and stole Air Pods and a Samsung charger. An employee, who was directly involved in the encounter, told the deputy that the suspect asked to see multiple random articles of merchandise and finally decided to purchase the Air Pod Pros and a Samsung charger. The initial payment did not go through the system, and the suspect did not attempt to try another form. He then turned away from the counter and walked toward the rear exit with the merchandise in hand. The employee tried to stop him by yelling, but the suspect kept going and left the building until he was out of view.
