La Cañada Doubles Help End Flintridge Prep’s Win Streak

La Cañada High School’s varsity girls’ tennis team delivered an impressive victory against Temple City, winning 15-3 in a Rio Hondo League match on Oct. 5.
In singles action, No. 1 Maya Lindenfeld swept with scores of 6-2, 6-0 and 6-1. No. 2 Lillian Chamras swept with scores of 6-1, 6-0 and 6-0, while No. 3 Jessica Simonian also swept with scores of 6-0, 6-1 and 6-0.
In doubles play, the No. 1 team of Lauren Kim and Kaylee Thornburgh won two sets with scores of 6-2 and 6-0. The No. 2 tandem of Pauline Hess and Christina Seibert won a set with a score of 6-2. Hess alternated with Anna Forster, and together with Seibert, the new duo added a 6-4 victory. The No. 3 pairing of Claire Lin and Kate Austin won a set with a score of 6-4. Austin later alternated with Maddison Hunt, and this new duo with Lin contributed with a 6-1 victory.
The Spartans secured a 12-6 nonleague victory over visiting Flintridge Prep on Oct. 4.
The No. 1 doubles team of Kim and Thornburgh swept their matches with scores of 6-4, 6-2 and 6-0. The No. 2 tandem of Hess and Seibert also swept with scores of 6-4, 7-5 and 6-0. The No. 3 pairing of Austin and Lin won two sets with scores of 7-5 and 6-3.
In the singles category, No. 1 Chamras swept with scores of 6-4, 6-1 and 6-1, while No. 2 Simonian won a set with a score of 6-4.
LCHS (8-1 overall, 4-1 in league) will visit San Marino for a league match on Oct. 12 at 4 p.m. before hosting Monrovia on Oct. 17.

Flintridge Prep alternate Olivia Tanouye and doubles partner Vanessa Hsu not pictured won a pair of sets to help the Wolves beat Providence High in a Prep League match on Oct 6

The Wolves cruised to a 15-3 Prep League victory over Providence High of Burbank on Oct. 6.
In singles play, No. 1 Kat Zirn swept her opponents with scores of 6-2, 6-1 and 6-1. No. 3 Anika Anant won two sets with scores of 6-1 and 6-0, while No. 2 Emily Hsiao won a set with a 6-0 score.
In doubles action, the No. 1 team of Kaitlyn Lavichant and Vanessa Hsu won a set with a score of 6-0. Lavichant alternated with Olivia Tanouye, and the new duo with Hsu won two sets with identical 6-0 scores. The No. 2 tandem of Kayla Lee and Nicole Lee won two sets with identical 6-0 scores. In the final round, Kayla Lee alternated with Vy Pham and together with Nicole Lee added a 6-0 victory. The No. 3 pairing of Kara Choy and Francesca Cecil also won two sets with identical 6-0 scores before alternating with Kate Snaer and Minda Lai, who contributed with a 6-3 victory.
In singles action, No. 1 Zirn won two sets with scores of 6-2 and 6-0. No. 3 Cecil also won two sets with scores of 6-2 and 6-0, while No. 2 Hsiao claimed a set with a score of 6-2. The No. 1 doubles team of Sienna Beltz and Lavichant contributed with a 6-2 victory.
The Wolves defeated visiting Palos Verdes Chadwick 12-6 in a league match on Oct. 3.
Flintridge Prep (9-1, 5-0) will host Westridge School of Pasadena for a league match on Oct. 12 at 3:15 p.m. before hosting Pasadena Polytechnic on Oct. 17.

Flintridge Sacred Heart Academys Iris Beijar and the Tologs recently lost a Mission League match against Marlborough High on Oct 5

The Tologs lost to visiting Marlborough High of Los Angeles 15-3 in a Mission League match on Oct. 5. Individual statistics were not reported to the Outlook Valley Sun by the FSHA coaching staff.
Flintridge Sacred Heart (0-11, 0-6) will visit Chaminade High in West Hills for its regular season finale on Oct. 17 at 3:30 p.m.
