La Cañada Falls to South Pasadena in Overtime

The La Cañada High School varsity football team lost at South Pasadena 34-27 in a Rio Hondo League showdown on Oct. 20.
Senior quarterback Macky Plocher completed 10 of 18 passes for 224 yards with three touchdowns and ran for 113 yards on 18 carries. Senior Alan Razo had two receptions for a game-high 118 total yards, each resulting in a touchdown. Senior Lorenz Bayug had seven carries for 38 yards with a touchdown, while senior Tyler Bond had three catches for 12 yards and a touchdown. Senior Hayden Dancsecs had three receptions for 81 yards, while junior Quest Swan went 3-for-4 in PAT attempts.
Senior Kei Hartzberg and junior Spencer Turner each racked up 12 tackles, while senior Luke Raulli recorded nine tackles and a pair of interceptions for 24 total yards. Senior Cayden Klein finished with nine tackles, while senior Paulos Cucullu tallied eight tackles. Junior Cole Parisi posted four tackles and a blocked field goal, senior Matthew Fan and sophomore Jakob Kim each registered four tackles, and senior Anthon Cannon, junior Syem Bangash and junior Sohan Garg each contributed. Junior Scott Carey chipped in two tackles, while junior Matthew Couts had one tackle.
The fourth-place Spartans (3-6 overall, 1-3 in league) will conclude the regular season by hosting Temple City on Oct. 27 at 7 p.m. The CIF Southern Section playoff brackets will be released on Oct. 29 at 10 a.m.
