LCHS, FSHA Drop Openers

The La Cañada High School varsity girls’ basketball team lost to visiting Crescenta Valley High of La Crescenta 57-32 in its season opener on Nov. 15.
Junior Sydney Magtoto recorded 10 points, six rebounds, three steals and two blocks for the Spartans, junior Jennifer Musso finished with eight points, three assists two rebounds and one steal, and sophomore Emma Sengul tallied eight points, three steals, two rebounds and one assist. Senior Andrianna Pitsos registered four points, three rebounds and one steal, while sophomore Natasha Sadhwani chipped in two points and one rebound. Sophomore Madison Hunt collected five rebounds, one steal and one block, while junior Ella Magtoto produced four rebounds and two steals. Freshman Violet Waugh contributed one rebound, one assist, one block and one steal, senior Talia Miyamoto notched two rebounds, and freshman Tessa Choi had one rebound.
The Spartans lost to visiting Crean Lutheran High of Irvine 56-30 in a nonleague game on Nov. 18. Individual statistics were not reported to the Outlook Valley Sun.
LCHS (0-2 overall) will compete in the San Marino Tournament next week, starting with a matchup against La Salle College Preparatory of Pasadena on Nov. 28 at 8 p.m.

FLINTRIDGE SACRED HEART

Flintridge Sacred Heart Academy junior Sophia Astacaan 12 scored 10 points during a nonleague game against Glendale on Nov 13

The Tologs lost to visiting Temple City 53-43 in a nonleague game on Nov. 17.
Junior Sophia Astacaan and freshman Emily Petrosyan each recorded 12 points, while senior Isabelle Risha tallied nine points. Junior Ava Nawrocki finished with four points while sophomores Bella Hagobian and Lori Yacoubian each scored three points.
FSHA picked up a 53-29 nonleague victory over visiting Mayfield Senior of Pasadena on Nov. 16, as Petrosyan racked up 23 points.
Risha registered seven points while Nawrocki chipped in six points. Sophomore Grace Adair and Astacaan each contributed five points, while Hagobian had two points.
The Tologs lost their season-opener at Glendale 43-41 in overtime on Nov. 13.
Nawrocki finished with 14 points while Astacaan produced 10 points. Petrosyan tallied eight points while Risha scored six points.
Flintridge Sacred Heart (1-2) will be on a break for Thanksgiving week but returns to action in the San Marino Tournament against St. Paul High of Santa Fe Springs on Nov. 28 at 3:30 p.m.


FLINTRIDGE PREP
The Wolves opened the regular season this week by competing in the Redondo Union Tourney against Pioneer High of Whittier on Nov. 20. A full tournament roundup will be included in next week’s issue.
Flintridge Prep will host Mark Keppel High of Alhambra for a nonleague game on Nov. 30 at 7 p.m. before opening Prep League action against Mayfield Senior of Pasadena on Dec. 1.
