The transitional kinders and kinders at Palm Crest Elementary School prepared for Thanksgiving learning about the holiday’s history. Students also made thankful turkeys, writing on the feathers what they are thankful for. To their delight, they had a special guest. Local resident Dr. David Foos, a member of the Mohawk and Missauga tribes, came dressed in his authentic regalia and spoke to the students about his Native American heritage. Agnes Foos, his wife, also attended and brought the students treats.

First published in the November 23 print issue of the Outlook Valley Sun.
