Spartans Rebound With Consecutive Wins

The La Cañada High School varsity girls’ soccer team posted a convincing 5-1 nonleague victory over visiting Notre Dame Academy of Los Angeles on Dec. 4. Samantha Neumeier, Samantha Hosford, Julia Sada, Hailee Takao and Mindy Martinez each scored one goal.
The Spartans secured a 3-1 nonleague victory at Burroughs High in Burbank on Dec. 1. Hosford registered a pair of goals, while Neumeier tallied two assists and one goal.
La Cañada narrowly lost 3-2 to visiting Crescenta Valley High of La Crescenta on Nov. 29 in a nonleague match. Hosford scored the match’s opening goal in the 12th minute before Martinez added another goal in the 76th.
The Spartans (5-1 overall) will host Flintridge Sacred Heart Academy for a nonleague contest on Dec. 7 at 5 p.m. before opening Rio Hondo League action at Temple City on Dec. 13.

FLINTRIDGE SACRED HEART
The Tologs competed in the Back Bay Invite on Dec. 1 and 2. FSHA posted wins against Torres High of Madera, 3-0, and Madera South, 4-3, and suffered a 3-0 loss against Kingsburg. Individual statistics were not reported to the Outlook Valley Sun.
Flintridge Sacred Heart (2-1) will visit La Cañada for a nonleague match on Dec. 7 at 5 p.m. before competing in the Pirate Cup from Dec. 27-30.

FLINTRIDGE PREP
The Wolves fell to San Marino 1-0 in their season opener on Dec. 5; more details of the result will be included in the next issue of the Outlook Valley Sun.
Flintridge Prep will compete in the Best in the West Tournament with a pair of matchups against Grand Terrace and Highland High of Palmdale on Dec. 9. The Wolves will open Prep League action at Westridge School in Pasadena on Dec. 12 at 3:30 p.m.
