The La Cañada High School varsity girls’ water polo team routed visiting Blair High of Pasadena 17-3 in a Rio Hondo League game on Dec. 14.
Sofia Korshakovsky registered five goals, while Lorelei Rocca racked up six steals and four goals. Alexis Calix finished with 11 steals and one goal, Kadyn Day tallied four steals, three blocks and one goal, and Supriya Uniyal scored two goals. Yasmine Martinez recorded two blocks and one goal, while Lilli Perner chipped in one goal and one block.
The Spartans (7-3 overall, 2-0 in league) will visit San Juan Hills High in San Juan Capistrano for a nonleague game on Jan. 6 at 10 a.m. before resuming league play against visiting Temple City on Jan. 9.
FLINTRIDGE SACRED HEART
The Tologs competed in the Chino Hills Tournament on Dec. 15 and 16 and finished with a 1-3 record.
FSHA suffered close losses against Rancho Cucamonga, 9-8, Huntington Beach, 7-6, and Sunny Hills High of Fullerton, 14-10. The Tologs defeated Millikan High of Long Beach, 12-11, in their tournament opener. Over the two-day tournament, junior Marisol Cowles amassed 30 goals and 22 steals, junior Kate Dolan racked up 18 goals and 12 assists, junior Reese Artura finished with 12 goals and eight steals, and senior Lauren Larson produced 26 saves.
Flintridge Sacred Heart (9-5) will visit Marlborough High in Los Angeles for its Mission League opener on Jan. 9 at 3 p.m. before visiting Crescenta Valley High in La Crescenta on Jan. 17.
FLINTRIDGE PREP
The Wolves posted an 18-7 Prep League victory over visiting Westridge School of Pasadena on Dec. 12. Individual statistics were not reported to the Outlook Valley Sun.
Flintridge Prep (4-2, 1-1) will resume league play at Mayfield Senior in Pasadena on Jan. 9 at 5:15 p.m. before traveling to La Salle College Preparatory in Pasadena on Jan. 11.
