Hat Trick Hero Lampasona Scores Winner for St. Francis

The La Cañada High School varsity boys’ soccer team has been away from the pitch since beating Royal High of Simi Valley in a nonleague match on Dec. 22.
The Spartans (6-1-2 overall, 1-0-1 in league) will resume Rio Hondo League action at Monrovia on Jan. 10 at 4 p.m. before visiting Blair High in Pasadena on Jan. 12.

ST. FRANCIS
The Golden Knights competed in the Winter Classic in Norco last week and finished with a 1-2 record.
St. Francis picked up a narrow 5-4 victory over Roosevelt High of Eastvale in its tournament finale on Dec. 29 as Giuliano Lampasona capped his hat trick with the game-winning goal.
Alex Hartley and Julian Jimenez each tallied one goal, while Nshan Manoucherian finished with five saves.
The Golden Knights lost to Vista Murrieta High 4-0 in a tournament game on Dec. 28 as Domenic Guzman recorded six saves.
St. Francis lost to Citrus Hill High of Perris 6-2 in its tournament opener on Dec. 27. Mike McCarthy and Luke Wyatt each scored one goal, while Manoucherian had eight saves.
The Golden Knights (5-4-1, 2-0) will visit Crespi High in Encino for a Mission League match on Jan. 5 at 5 p.m. before hosting Harvard-Westlake High of Studio City on Jan. 8.

FLINTRIDGE PREP
The Wolves have also been away from the pitch since their draw against Pasadena Polytechnic in their Prep League opener on Dec. 12.
Flintridge Prep (1-3-1, 0-0-1) will host Providence High of Burbank for a league game on Jan. 10 at 3:30 p.m. before hosting Polytechnic on Jan. 11.
