Sheriff’s Crime Report

A residential burglary was reported in the 1600 block of Fairmount Avenue on Dec. 27 between 9 a.m. and 9 p.m. After locking his home, the victim left at 9 a.m. and did not see anyone or any vehicles that were suspicious. When he returned, he walked toward his wife’s room, located on the west side of his residence to look for his cat and saw his west-facing, double-panned glass sliding door shattered by an unknown tool once entering the room. He also found his wife’s room ransacked. As he continued to do a walkthrough of his residence, he noticed that every room had been ransacked and was unable to immediately identify any items that may have been stolen at the time of the report. The victim did have multiple CCTV security cameras throughout his residence, but he did not know how to utilize the system.

A petty theft was reported in the 500 block of Foothill Boulevard on Dec. 29 between 2:30 p.m. and 3 p.m. The victim said that an unknown person stole her yellow backpack from the upper basket portion of the shopping cart she was using. While she was loading groceries into her vehicle, she turned around to retrieve her backpack and realized it was gone. Her backpack contained two wallets with money, a driver’s license and credit and debit cards, and a flip cell phone.

A petty theft was reported in the 4600 block of Ocean View Boulevard on Dec. 27 at 6:37 p.m. The victim received a notification on her cell phone security application stating that someone was at her front door. She was not home at the time. When she checked her front door camera footage, she saw a woman wearing a brown jacket with blue jeans who then walked away from her front door carrying a kettlebell and a “Jack Skellington” package, which was delivered earlier that day. Since the video was only a few seconds long, it did not show which direction the suspect went.
