Chant Nets Four as La Cañada Routs San Marino

The La Cañada High School varsity boys’ soccer team cruised to an 8-1 victory over visiting San Marino in a Rio Hondo League game on Jan. 17 as junior Harry Chant racked up four goals and two assists.
Junior Armen Kozanian chipped in two goals, while junior Brendan Kuo and sophomore Rafayel Sahakyan each finished with one goal. Senior Alan Razo and senior Jamie Saunders each tallied two assists, while seniors Eliot Rae and Zach Caro each recorded one assist.
The Spartans lost at Temple City 4-1 in a league game on Jan. 19.
Chant scored one goal, while Saunders was credited with an assist.
La Cañada (8-3-2, 3-2-1) will host Monrovia for a league match on Jan. 26 at 4 p.m. before hosting Blair High of Pasadena on Jan. 30.

ST. FRANCIS

The Golden Knights shut out visiting Alemany High of Mission Hills 5-0 in a Mission League game on Jan. 19.
Nshan Manoucherian recorded four saves, while Dom Guzmán made three saves. Giuliano Lampasona chipped in two goals, while Cole Fletcher, Patrick McPherson and Daren Stepanians each scored one goal.
St. Francis (7-8-2, 4-4-1) will visit Harvard-Westlake High for a league matchup on Jan. 26 at 5 p.m. before traveling to Sherman Oaks Notre Dame on Jan. 29.

FLINTRIDGE PREP

The Wolves routed host Providence High in Burbank 8-1 in a Prep League match on Jan. 19.
Leo Ferry scored a hat trick, Kevin Zhang and Rashad Entabi each chipped in two goals, and Ethan Rudzinski scored one goal.
Flintridge Prep lost at Palos Verdes Chadwick 2-1 in a league game on Jan. 17 as Rafi Fermanian had one goal.
The Wolves (3-4-2, 2-1-2) will host Palos Verdes Chadwick for a league game on Jan. 25 at 3:15 p.m. before visiting San Marino for a nonleague game on Jan. 27.
