La Cañada Boys’ Soccer Rout San Marino in Final League Matchup

The La Cañada High School varsity boys’ soccer team concluded the regular season and Rio Hondo League play with a 7-0 victory at San Marino on Feb. 1. The Spartans defeated visiting Blair High of Pasadena 4-1 in a league match on Jan. 30. Individual statistics were not reported to the Outlook Valley Sun.
The Spartans, which finished second in league with a 7-2-1 record (11-3-2 overall), hosted Nogales High of La Puente (10-6-2 overall) for its CIF Southern Section Division V opener on Feb. 7; the match ended after the Outlook Valley Sun’s press deadline and will be included in next week’s issue. If victorious, the Spartans would advance to the second round and meet Esperanza High of Anaheim (14-5-4) or Portola High of Irvine (5-8-4) on Feb. 10.


FLINTRIDGE PREP
The Wolves concluded the regular season and Prep League play on Feb. 1 by tying host Palos Verdes Chadwick 2-2 as senior Leo Ferry and sophomore Declan Mansbridge each scored one goal.
Flintridge Prep overwhelmed visiting Providence High of Burbank 11-4 in a league match on Jan. 29, as senior Rafi Fermanian racked up four goals.
Freshman Ethan Rudzinski, Ferry and Mansbridge each chipped in two goals, while sophomore Mac Peutet finished with one goal.
The Wolves finished the campaign second in league with a 4-2-3 record (6-5-3 overall).

ST. FRANCIS
The Golden Knights concluded the regular season and Mission League action on Jan. 31 by tying host Chaminade High in West Hills 2-2. Individual statistics were not reported to the Outlook Valley Sun.
St. Francis narrowly lost at Sherman Oaks Notre Dame 3-2 in a league match on Jan. 29. Freshman goalie Nshan Manoucherian recorded five saves, while senior Giuliano Lampasona and junior Alex Hartley each scored one goal.
St. Francis finished the campaign fifth in league with a 4-7-3 record (7-11-4 overall).
