Flintridge Sacred Heart Academy recently held its annual dance concert, with the theme “In Dreams.” The production was directed by Jessie Ryan, who also choreographed most of the dances.
“I feel so lucky to work with teenage dance students, ” Ryan said. “They are coming of age, and the studio and stage are a safe place for them to express their inner emotional lives, connect with each other, and build confidence along the way. Dance teaches the value of discipline and dedication, and performances like this deliver huge rewards for their hard work.”
A wide variety of dance styles were featured in the 15-dance concert, including modern, contemporary, jazz and hip hop. The concert showcased the school’s two after-school groups, the Veritas Dance Project and Ultimate Dance Crew.
