The La Cañada High School varsity boys’ lacrosse team defeated visiting Glendale, 9-5, in its season opener on Feb. 10.
Spartans senior Dylan Jeffries scored three goals, juniors Finn Valderhaug and Connor Roehmholdt netted twice, and senior Keshav Fernando and junior River Wokosin each added a goal.
The Spartans (1-0 overall) will host Castaic for a nonleague game on Feb. 16 at 7 p.m. before hosting Royal High of Simi Valley on Feb. 20.
ST. FRANCIS
The Golden Knights hosted Crescenta Valley High of La Crescenta for its season opener on Feb. 13; the game ended after the Outlook Valley Sun’s press deadline and will be included in next week’s issue.
SFHS will visit Redondo Union in Redondo Beach for a nonleague game on Feb. 16 at 6 p.m. before hosting Palos Verdes of the Palos Verdes Estates on Feb. 20.
GIRLS’ LACROSSE
The La Cañada High School varsity girls’ lacrosse team opened the regular season by hosting El Camino Real High of Woodland Hills on Feb. 13; the game ended after the Outlook Valley Sun’s press deadline and will be included in next week’s issue.
The Spartans will visit Saugus for a nonleague game on Feb. 23 at 3 p.m. before hosting Hart High of Newhall on Feb. 27.
