The La Cañada High School varsity boys’ soccer team lost to visiting Nogales High of La Puente, 1-0, in its CIF Southern Section Division V opener on Feb. 7.
The Spartans finished the campaign second in the Rio Hondo League behind champions Monrovia.
La Cañada completed the season with a 7-2-1 record (11-4-2 overall).
