Recent rainfall has prompted La Cañada Flintridge city officials to close off all athletic fields on Feb. 19, and the facilities will remain closed until conditions improve.
Officials said closures are critical in protecting the community’s athletic fields, which will be reassessed to be determined if they can be reopened following recent downpours. When the fields become too saturated, any activity destroys the grass and leaves the fields in poor condition.
