LCUSD Discussion to Cover Online Safety Strategies

La Cañada Flintridge families and students in grades 7-12 are invited to an in-person Family Learning Series event on Tuesday, Feb. 20, at the LCUSD Governing Board Room. This timely discussion will tackle the delicate subject of online safety and sexting, specifically focusing on how seemingly private online actions can have real-world consequences.
The event features two speakers: Catharine Richmond, an LCUSD graduate and assistant U.S. Attorney with experience in online safety and youth protection who will share insights into personal safety and the law, and Hadley Durkee, an actress, writer and producer who will talk about her personal experience with online image leaks and provide a showing of her short film inspired by those incidents.
Families are encouraged to attend to hear stories from the event’s two speakers, engage in conversation in a safe space, and to learn valuable strategies to help teens navigate the online world responsibly and avoid difficult situations.
For more information and to register for the event, visit lcusd.net/apps/pages/FamilyLearningSeries.
