Boys’ Tennis: La Cañada Outlasts Crescenta Valley

The La Cañada High School varsity boys’ tennis team secured an 11-7 nonleague victory over visiting Crescenta Valley High of La Crescenta on Feb. 28.
No. 2 singles player Konan Sahara swept his side with scores of 6-1, 6-0 and 6-0, while No. 1 Mathew Ma and No. 3 Seth Lindenfeld each won a set, 6-3.
The No. 3 doubles team of Aaron Pan and Isaac Lai swept with scores of 6-2, 6-1 and 6-2. The No. 1 tandem of David Lee and Spencer Moravec won a pair of sets with scores of 6-4 and 6-1, while the No. 2 pairing of Cayden Chang and Blake Chang won a set, 6-2.
The Spartans (2-1 overall) will visit Temple City for its Rio Hondo League opener on March 12 before hosting Monrovia on March 19.

ST. FRANCIS
The Golden Knights were shut out at Sherman Oaks Notre Dame 18-0 in a Mission League match on Feb. 29.
St. Francis lost at Sierra Canyon High in Chatsworth 11-7 in a league match on Feb. 28. The No. 2 doubles team of Preston Kim and Arek Yacoubian swept with scores of 6-2, 7-5 and 7-6. The No. 3 doubles team of Andrew Tchakmakjian and Logan King won a set with a 6-1 score, while No. 1 Armen Balikyan-Bekian won a set, 6-3.
St. Francis (0-5 overall, 0-2 in league) will host Crescenta Valley High of La Crescenta for a nonleague match on March 8 at 1 p.m. before hosting Valley Christian High of Cerritos on March 20.

FLINTRIDGE PREP
The Wolves secured a 12-6 nonleague victory at La Salle College Preparatory in Pasadena on March 4. Individual statistics were not reported to the Outlook Valley Sun.
Flintridge Prep will host Crescenta Valley High of La Crescenta for a nonleague game on March 11 at 4 p.m. before visiting Duarte on March 28.
