Lacrosse: Spartans Rout Lynwood in Nonleague Victory

The La Cañada High School varsity girls’ lacrosse team defeated visiting Lynwood 11-3 in a nonleague game on March 6.
Junior Emily Yang, sophomore Rachel Herrick, sophomore Maddy Logelin, freshman Julie Chien, and freshman Keira Miller each contributed one goal and one assist, while junior Olivia Laughon, sophomore Madison Hunt, freshman Nicole Otieno, freshman Melia Khalili and freshman Hana Valderhaug each scored one goal. Sophomore Gretchen Louie was credited with two assists, while sophomore Kayla Bowman tallied two saves in the second half.
The Spartans (3-5 overall) will visit Birmingham Charter High in Lake Balboa for a nonleague game on March 15 at 4:30 p.m. before hosting Palos Verdes Chadwick on March 19.

BOYS’ LACROSSE
The St. Francis High School varsity lacrosse team lost to visiting Agoura 10-9 in a nonleague game on March 8. Individual statistics were not reported to the Outlook Valley Sun.
The Golden Knights posted a 13-12 victory over visiting Sierra Canyon High of Chatsworth in their Mission League opener on March 5.
Senior Jayden Siques registered four goals and four ground balls, while junior Ezekiel Peraza finished with three goals, three assists and three ground balls. Juniors Eric Garbo and Axel Gonzalez each chipped in two goals and one ground ball, while junior Myles Henry produced three ground balls, one goal and one assist. Freshman Dawson Henry recorded three ground balls and one goal, while senior Joseph Sonner collected two ground balls and one assist. Junior Carlo Binda tallied seven saves, senior Dustin Bell and junior Isaac Fajardo each had three ground balls, and seniors Jacob Solomon and Ryan James each had one ground ball.
SFHS (5-4 overall, 1-0 in league) will host Crespi High of Encino for a league game on March 19 at 6 p.m. before visiting Palisades High on March 21.

LA CAÑADA
The Spartans have been on a break since losing a nonleague game on Simi Valley on March 1.
LCHS (2-4) will visit Crescenta Valley High in La Crescenta for a Gold Coast League game on March 14 at 3:15 p.m. before visiting Brentwood School in Los Angeles on March 21.
