Softball: Leckrone Tosses No-Hitter in La Cañada Victory

The La Cañada High School varsity softball team picked up a 3-1 victory at Crescenta Valley High in La Crescenta in a nonleague game on March 27. Junior Bentley Labrecque, who had a hit and a stolen base, pitched a complete game with three strikeouts.
Junior Grace Rocco went 3-for-3 with a home run, a double, two RBIs and two runs, while senior captain Ashley Lovejoy went 2-for-3 with an RBI. Freshman Riley Labrecque recorded a hit, a run and a walk, while senior captain Elle Leckrone, senior captain Mia Salardino and junior Aubrey Wurm each had a base hit.
The Spartans shut out visiting South Pasadena 2-0 in a Rio Hondo League game on March 26 as Leckrone pitched a seven-inning no-hitter with 11 strikeouts and three walks.
Bentley Labrecque went 2-for-3 with a run and a stolen base, Salardino produced a hit and a stolen base, and sophomore Laila Kazazian and Riley Labrecque each tallied a base hit. Lovejoy was credited with an RBI, while Rocco scored a run.
La Cañada (11-7-1 overall, 4-3 in league) will host Immaculate Heart High of Los Angeles for a nonleague game on April 12 at 3:30 p.m. before hosting Monrovia on April 16.

The Wolves lost at Rio Hondo Prep in Arcadia 11-8 in a Prep League game on March 29 as junior Elise Fong pitched a six-inning complete game with four strikeouts.
Junior Sienna Liston went 3-for-4 with a pair of doubles, two RBIs, two runs and a stolen base, sophomore Mary Sinclair went 2-for-4 with a home run, three RBIs and two runs, and sophomore Emma Carmack went 3-for-4 with an RBI and a run. Senior Ava Burlingame recorded a hit and a run, while sophomore Allie Dennis tallied a base hit. Senior Alex Von Thaden was credited with an RBI and a run, while freshman Leighton Acker scored a run and stole a base.
Flintridge Prep lost to visiting Providence High of Burbank 7-2 in a league game on March 27 as Fong pitched a complete game with three strikeouts and no walks.
Senior Asta Uziel went 2-for-4 with a run and a stolen base, Sinclair produced a hit, three stolen bases, a run and a walk, and Von Thaden tallied a hit. Liston walked once and stole a base, while Acker walked once.
The Wolves (8-4, 2-4) will visit Mayfield Senior in Pasadena for a league game on April 4 at 3:30 p.m. before visiting Westridge School in Pasadena on April 10.

The Tologs have been on a break since losing to Harvard-Westlake High of Studio City in a Sunshine League game on March 21.
FSHA (10-7, 1-1) will visit Marymount High in Los Angeles for a league game on April 9 at 3:15 p.m. before traveling to Immaculate Heart High on April 11.
