Claire Murray will be the lone representative of La Cañada High School in the CIF Southern Section Division 3 championships at Norwalk Cerritos College this Saturday.
Murray won the 100-meter hurdles event at the CIF prelims with a time of 14.60. The junior also participated in the 4×100 relay along with Kamryn Creighton, Jackie Gevorgian and Samantha Mayer. The four Spartans finished 26th with a time of 51.60.
Morgan Bowman just missed the cut in the 800-meter run after finishing 15th with a time of 2:24.80. The last qualified runner was San Marino’s Olivia Ruiz, who posted a time of 2:22.31.
Sarah Auther ran the 3200-meter run and placed 16th with a time of 11:44.05, and Adena DiPaolo was 27th in the 1600 with a time of 5:32.99.
Seve Rodriguez competed in the boys’ 400-meter dash and placed 20th with a time of 51.69, and Ryan Johnson recorded a distance of 19-01.00 for 37th place in the long jump.
