Lacrosse: Peraza Spurs Offense in St. Francis Win

The La Cañada High School varsity girls’ lacrosse team lost at Westridge School in Pasadena 16-3 in a Prep League game on April 9. Freshman Julie Chien scored three goals, while sophomore Kayla Bowman finished with nine saves.
The Spartans (6-10 overall, 1-4 in league) will host Glendale for a league game on April 22 at 4:30 p.m. before hosting Westridge School for their regular-season finale on April 24.

BOYS’ LACROSSE
The La Cañada High School varsity boys’ lacrosse team lost to visiting Crescenta Valley High of La Crescenta 12-5 in a Gold Coast League game on April 13.
The Spartans were shut out at Viewpoint High in Calabasas 14-0 in a league game on April 11 after suffering an 11-5 league loss against visiting Heritage Christian High in Northridge on April 9. Individual statistics were not reported to the Outlook Valley Sun.
La Cañada (3-9 overall, 1-5 in league) will host Newbury Park for a nonleague game on April 22 at 7 p.m. before hosting Brentwood School in Los Angeles on April 23.


ST. FRANCIS

The Golden Knights bounced back with a 16-8 nonleague victory over visiting San Juan Hills High of San Juan Capistrano on April 12.
Junior Ezekiel Peraza racked up six ground balls, four goals and three assists, while junior Axel Gonzalez finished with six ground balls, five assists and two goals. Junior Eric Garbo registered three goals and two ground balls, senior Jayden Siques recorded five ground balls and two goals, and junior Myles Henry chipped in two goals and one ground ball. Senior Ryan James produced three ground balls and one goal, while sophomore Dexter Sohn scored one goal. Junior Carlo Binda made nine saves, while freshman Dawson Henry collected seven ground balls. Junior Koji Inaba was credited with three ground balls and one assist, senior Joseph Sonner, junior Valentino Notaro and junior Alex Robles each had two ground balls, and senior Dustin Bell, junior Diego Montes, junior Tyler Hedman and sophomore Alec Heberger each had one ground ball.
St. Francis lost at Loyola High in Los Angeles 18-4 in a Mission League game on April 9.
Gonzalez chipped in two goals and two ground balls, Peraza finished with one goal, one assist and one ground ball, and Myles Henry recorded one goal and one ground ball. Siques produced one assist and one ground ball, Garbo was credited with one assist, and Dawson Henry, senior Aidan Heberger, junior William Garabedian, Sonner and Inaba each had one ground ball.
St. Francis (11-6 overall, 5-1 in league) will finish competing in the Mission League tournament this week before hosting Newport Harbor High of Newport Beach on April 25.
