Second-grade artists in Alison Parra and Julie Perdisatt’s classes at Paradise Canyon Elementary School carefully listened as they learned and practiced the gentle strokes of Chinese brush painting. They learned how to use two different brushes, and to make their strokes from the bottom of the paper upward to make bamboo stems. They also made everyone’s favorite, panda bears.
