Fibromyalgia-Arthritis Support Group at LCPC

A new community support group is beginning for people with fibromyalgia and/or arthritis. The group will meet monthly at La Cañada Presbyterian Church for personal and social support and education in lifestyle management of these difficult medical issues.
The support group will be led by Dianne Whiting and Katie Phillips-Rector. Whiting has extensive experience as a physical therapist working with people with fibromyalgia and arthritis and is program director for the Fibromyalgia Management Program at Casa Colina Hospital in Pomona. She has been leading a fibromyalgia support group at Casa Colina for the past 20 years.
Phillips-Rector is a marriage and family therapist intern who works with individuals and families facing a variety of chronic pain and health conditions. She also lives with rheumatoid arthritis and fibromyalgia herself, and is passionate about helping others find strength and encouragement while living these medical issues.
The support group will meet at La Cañada Presbyterian Church on the fourth Wednesday of every month, from 1-2:15 p.m. in the library. There is no fee or sign-up for this program, and all are welcome to join us. Email Katie (Katie@lacanadapc.org) or Dianne (diannefibro@gmail.com) with questions.
