La Cañada Presbyterian Church will offer weekly parenting education classes for parents of children up to 18 from September through May 2018. The registration period will open Wednesday, May 10.
Parent-and-Child classes for parents of newborns through age 5 will feature valuable instruction from seasoned educators; Parent-Only sessions for parents of school-aged children will focus on challenges that accompany raising elementary, tween and teen children; New Babies, Babies and Older Babies will highlight first-year challenges of eating, sleeping and changes in family dynamics; Toddler and 2-Year-Old classes will feature discussions about discipline, potty training and nurturing the whole child; Family Class will enable parents to bring children up to 5 and discuss raising young children as well as creating calm in a multichild family.
Parenting 3-4-Year-Olds will focus on kindergarten prep, nurturing the whole child and developing self-regulation; Parents of Elementary Kids will cover the latest in brain research and how it relates to children’s development, learning, behavior and relationships; Tweeners class will feature large and small group discussions about pre-adolescent issues such as peer relationships, family communication, puberty and school adjustments; and Parenting High Schoolers promises to be a compelling class about adolescent identity, family communication, dating, driving, college preparation and learning to “let go.”

There is still time to register online for remaining slots for this year’s Summer Family Class beginning May 24 or 25 for parents and their children up to 5.
