About 600 people attended the Healthcare Foundation at Glendale Adventist Medical Center’s annual gala last Sunday at the Pasadena Convention Center. Generous support from the community helped to raise more than $1 million.
GAMC has been serving patients for more than 112 years and the support of the community has played a major role in developing services at the medical center.
The highlight of the evening was the presentation of the prestigious 2017 Physician Hero of the Year award. The award was given to Dr. Hugo Riffel-Dalinger. GAMC physicians touch the lives of thousands of patients and families.
“This is a unique award because patients nominate their own physician hero through a special tribute program,” said Irene Bourdon, president of the Healthcare Foundation. “Physicians are recognized in various ways at our hospital, but when a doctor receives tributes from patients, it is especially meaningful.”
“Our patients, physicians, staff and volunteers are deeply grateful for the community’s incredible generosity,” said Bourdon.
