Crescenta Valley Sheriff’s deputies responded to a single-vehicle crash at 3 a.m. on Saturday morning in the 5000 block of Princess Anne Drive, according to Lt. Mark Slater.
Judging by the speed and the effects of the collision, deputies suspect the 22-year-old driver was intoxicated, Slater said, though toxicology test results won’t be known for a couple of weeks.
The vehicle exited the roadway and overturned on the front lawn of a residence. Both occupants of the vehicle suffered injuries for which they were treated at local hospitals, Slater said.
“We’re just lucky that no one was hurt in the houses by that flying debris,” Slater said. “Car parts flew all over the place and damaged a couple of the houses. One car part ended up on the roof of a house.”
Slater also urged anyone who’s been drinking to avoid driving.
“At some point, the driver or passenger has to take responsibility and say, ‘We’ve been drinking,’ and order a ride share or a taxi,” Slater said.
