The La Cañada Junior Women’s Club is looking for new members with a passion for fun, philanthropy and fundraising.
The club recently hosted two events for prospective members. Guests who wanted to learn more about Juniors attended the club’s wine and cheese event and “coffee-klatch” to mingle with current members. The gatherings were held at the home of Georgina Mueller of La Cañada Flintridge.
For more than 40 years, LCJWC has provided assistance to local women and children in need, through fundraisers, rummage sales, auctions and more. The club is looking forward to an active year with its philanthropic efforts benefitting the Ronald McDonald House of Pasadena and Five Acres of Altadena. Juniors host an annual fundraiser party to support these two charities, and organize other events throughout the year, including preparing lunches every month to help people in need at Union Station in Pasadena.
For more information about the club’s next Provisional Meet and Greet, contact Mueller, co-chair of provisional membership at (858) 354-0214, or georginaandtony@aol.com, or co-chair Laura Plourde at (818) 292-3383 or ldpiller@gmail.com. The club plans to host another get-together for prospective members at the end of September. The application deadline to become a provisional member is Oct. 18.
