Palm Crest Elementary School’s iRead program, a summer reading program in which students keep track of the minutes they read, is in its sixth year. It was started by school board member Brent Kuszyk. The top reader this year was Madison Hunt, a 4th-grader who read 19,715 minutes. Lorelei Rocca read 15,761 minutes and Aaron Kang 14,249 minutes. The school’s total was 532,095 minutes. Kuszyk said that the average number of minutes per student has increased over the years.
