LC’s Morgan Wins Individual Singles Title

La Cañada High School’s Lance Morgan won the Rio Hondo League individual singles championship by defeating Temple City’s Jarrett Navarre, 6-2, 6-2.
In the league’s doubles tournament, Luke Kim and Luke Manion came in third place after losing to San Marino’s Zihao Wang and Bryan Hang in the semifinals, 4-6, 3-6. The tandem beat San Marino’s Bryan Paek and Aidan Lee 4-6, 6-3, 10-7 in a tiebreaker for third place.
LC’s Konan Sahara placed fourth in the individual singles tournament.
The Spartans, who finished second in the standings with a 6-2 league record (9-3 overall), opened their CIF-SS Division I postseason run at Buckley High of Sherman Oaks (15-0 overall) yesterday; the result was unavailable by the Outlook Valley Sun’s press deadline and will be included in next week’s issue. If LCHS is victorious, it would advance to the second round to meet either Great Oak High of Temecula (17-5 overall) or Mira Costa High of Manhattan Beach (24-17-2) on Friday, May 6, at 3 p.m.

FLINTRIDGE PREP
The Wolves opened their CIF-SS Division III postseason run with a first-round matchup at Mark Keppel High of Alhambra yesterday; the result was unavailable by the Outlook Valley Sun’s press deadline and will be included in next week’s issue.
If victorious, Flintridge Prep (17-4 overall) would advance to the second round and meet either Carpinteria (14-5 overall) or Foothill Tech High of Ventura (6-4 overall) on Friday, May 6, at 3 p.m.
