Lutheran Church Collects Donations for Ukraine

First published in the July 14 print issue of the Outlook Valley Sun.

The recent weeklong Vacation Bible School at Lutheran Church in the Foothills left dozens of kids with fun-filled memories.
It also helped raise money to purchase desperately needed medical supplies for people in wartorn Ukraine. VBS participants, volunteers and their families donated more than $400 through daily offerings.
LCIF is partnering with St. Andrews Ukrainian Orthodox Church in Elysian Park to get the medical supplies where they are needed.
This Sunday at 10 a.m., Pastor Chuck Bunnell will preach from the Gospel of Luke 10:38-42. Worship service is held in-person as well as livestreamed on the church’s YouTube channel. A link to the online service can be found on LCIF’s website.
All are welcome including anyone who enjoys singing. Summer choir is informal. Just show up and sing. No practice is required.
LCIF would like to remind the community of summer activities that are open to all: Bible study groups, knitting, quilting and more. Please check the church’s website for in-person meeting times. Many activities are also offered via Zoom. Families should meet in the worship center at 10 a.m. After the children’s sermon, kids head to the Youth Room for a time of play.
Visit lcifoothills.org for event details, including small group gatherings and opportunities to serve. For more information, email office@lcifoothills.org, or call (818) 790-1951. The church is located at 1700 Foothill Blvd. Office hours are 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday through Friday.
