LCPC Approves New Senior Pastor

First published in the Jan. 26 print issue of the Outlook Valley Sun.

The members of La Cañada Presbyterian Church recently voted to approve the calling of a new senior pastor, the Rev. Ross Purdy at a special congregational meeting.
The vote followed a 15-month nationwide search by the Pastor Nominating Committee.
Purdy preached at the morning’s worship service, and the vote was taken immediately following. Purdy accepted this call and began his ministry at LCPC on Tuesday.
Purdy comes to LCPC having served as senior pastor for the past 22 years at First Presbyterian Church of Burbank. He earned his Master of Divinity degree in 1996 from Princeton Theological Seminary and was first ordained into ministry by the Lake Arrowhead Community Presbyterian Church.
Purdy is a gifted preacher and has a passion for teaching, pastoral care, leadership, mission outreach and collaboration. He is known by LCPC’s current pastoral team and both the church’s staff and membership look forward to joining in ministry together.
La Cañada Presbyterian Church invites the community to come to the 9 a.m. or 10:30 a.m. worship services Sunday, Feb. 26, to hear the Purdy preach and welcome him and his family to the church and the community.
