The Flintridge Preparatory School recently hosted its commencement ceremony, where 108 seniors were honored for their achievement of completing their high school educations.
The celebratory event, held at the Pasadena Civic Auditorium, included a prelude, featuring “Fanfare for the Common Man” by Aaron Copeland, the processional with “Pomp and Circumstance” playing and “The Noble Blue and Gray,” national anthem and opening remarks given by Head of School Vanessa Walker-Oakes.
Rob Tolleson, board of trustees chair and parent, welcomed attendees to the ceremony, where the class speaker Gabriela Varga addressed her peers and the evening’s guests, faculty and staff presented awards and honors, including the Benton Memorial Award, which went to Audrey Jung and the Founder’s Trophy given to Gya Rodriguez.
Afterward, the diplomas were presented to the Class of 2023, prompting the recessional to begin, which marked the end of commencement, but the beginning of a new chapter for the now alums.
