A deputy responded to a call regarding mail found scattered between La Cañada Boulevard and Olive Lane at 7:30 a.m. on June 22. The mail was addressed to a residence in the 4700 block of Rosebank Drive. After the deputy brought the mail to the address, the victim confirmed that it was his mail. The victim said he last checked his mailbox on June 17 and denied knowing any potential suspects or why his mail might have been stolen. There was no security camera footage found.

A grand theft was reported in the 400 block of Knight Way at 1 p.m. on June 22. The victim claimed that his gardening equipment was stolen from the bed of the La Cañada Unified School District truck he was using when he walked away. He came back 10 minutes later to discover that a weed eater and blower had been stolen. The deputy contacted the school principal and requested to see video footage of the incident. He saw a dark-colored SUV enter the school parking lot and stopped in front to the victim’s truck. Two males came out of the SUV while the third suspect remained in the driver’s seat. They took off the wooden side panel of the truck and unloaded the equipment to load it in the back of the SUV. They drove away eastbound from the parking lot. The deputy was able to get a description of both suspects who stepped out of the vehicle, and after reviewing the footage, found that the vehicle was a black ’90s Ford Expedition.
