Sheriff’s Crime Log

A robbery occurred at the Angeles Crest Highway Mile Marker on July 20 at 10:30 p.m. The incident involved two men who took a victim’s wallet and cell phone with the use of a firearm. The victim and his girlfriend were parked in a black 2023 Tesla Model Y and noticed a black Toyota or Mitsubishi come toward their car and two males exited the vehicle. One of the suspects was holding a black pistol to the victim’s stomach with his hand on the trigger and demanded that the victim empty his pockets and hand over his phone. The victim feared for his life and believed that he would be shot. The other suspect, also with a black pistol, opened the passenger door and grabbed a black leather bag from the victim’s girlfriend. The suspects then drove south bound on the Angeles Crest Highway and out of view.

A vehicle burglary report call was received at the Crescenta Valley Station lobby that occurred on the Angeles Crest Highway on July 21 between 8 a.m. and noon. The victim stated that he went hiking at Colby Canyon Trail and parked his vehicle near the entrance of the trail, which he locked. When he returned to his vehicle, he saw that the locking mechanisms of the driver’s door and the glove compartment had been punched with an unknown tool. There was money, and a couple of credit and debit cards stolen from his vehicle, which was in his wallet that was placed in the glove compartment. The suspect did use the cards to make transactions, and the victim has since closed his accounts.

An officer responded to a petty theft call in the 600 block of Foothill Boulevard on July 23 at 5:09 p.m. An employee was reviewing surveillance cameras when he observed a man walking around the store, removing clothes from the racks and placing them into his black backpack. After the suspect filled his backpack, he walked toward the stock room and was confronted. He then dropped the backpack and ran out of the store through an emergency exit door. Although the suspect did drop his backpack, he was still able to steal several men’s miscellaneous clothing that he was holding in his left hand, and managed to ride away on a scooter.
