Appreciation for Disaster Planning Event

We would like to thank everyone involved or participating in the July event for disaster planning held at La Cañada High School.
We should all have thorough plans in the event of a disaster but we had to admit that we did not. As good as it was for the speakers to be streamed to watch at home, we hope this will be an annual event and encourage residents to show up in person.
Los Angeles County had rich resources on display, including some pretty incredible technology and “gizmos” for rescuing those in need. The exhibits and speakers gave great information for both personal and neighborhood planning.
The most amazing experience for us though was being able to meet and talk with responders both professional and volunteer. Professional front line workers, search and rescue groups, CERT members, radio volunteers are all trained to play different and supporting parts to work together in the event of a major disaster. Their dedication and enthusiasm was something special to experience. We thank all of you for showing up on a very hot evening, in uniform and with your equipment and trucks.
Most of all, we thank you in advance for the commitment you make to spring into action on our behalf in the event of a major disaster.
