High school juniors who live within the 91011 ZIP code and have an interest in serving on the 2024 Miss La Cañada Flintridge Royal Court are invited to apply now, according to Pat Anderson, President and CEO of the LCF Chamber of Commerce, and Katherine Markgraf, the Royal Court Advisor.
“We encourage all interested young ladies to attend the Community Connections event on Sept. 14 across the street from Memorial Park. There you will have an opportunity to meet and talk with the 2023 Miss LCF and her Royal Court and pick up an application,” said Markgraf.
This year’s Royal Court is Hannah Kiang, Miss LCF 2023, and Princesses Kayleen Akopian, Payson Dillon, Katelyn Matarese and Charlotte Raulli.
Beginning Sept. 14, applications for the scholarship will also be available on the Chamber’s website (lacanadaflintridge.com) or by sending an e-mail to exec@lacanadaflintridge.com or at your high school. Deadline to submit is Thursday, Oct. 26, by 4 p.m. to the Chamber Office located inside City Hall, One Civic Center Drive, LCF.
Public speaking ability, poise, academic achievement, youth leadership, community and high school involvement are all qualities that will be taken into consideration by the judges, Anderson said.
Interviews will be held on Monday, Nov. 6, and the second interview will be on Monday, Nov. 13. Candidates must attend both interviews in person.
The interviews will be held at LCF City Hall, Council Chambers. Watch the Chamber’s website for updates. Finalists will be notified within a few days following the final interview.
Miss LCF will receive a minimum scholarship of $500 and her Royal Court will each receive a minimum scholarship of $250 along with gifts of clothing and jewelry from area merchants.
