Spartans Stretch Winning Streak

The La Cañada High School varsity boys’ water polo team won its four consecutive game after beating visiting Mark Keppel High of Alhambra 18-10 in a nonleague game on Sept. 14.
Alexander Abramian racked up seven goals and one steal, Arshan Soltanzadeh finished with five goals and one steal, and Ryan Petter recorded five saves and two steals.
lan Wipfli contributed two goals and one steal, Tait Landswick tallied two steals and one goal, and Dante Varshavsky produced one goal and one steal. Connor Weightman and Jacob Goldsworthy each scored one goal while Landon Karlich had one steal.
The Spartans posted a 16-12 nonleague victory over visiting La Salle College Preparatory on Sept. 12 as Beckett Chung racked up 10 saves, one goal and one steal.
Abramian registered four goals and one block, Wipfli scored four goals and Karlich finished with three goals. Weightman tallied two goals and one steal, while Liam Applegate produced three steals, two blocks, one goal and one assist. Soltanzadeh contributed one goal and one steal, while Landswick collected one block, one steal and one assist.
LCHS (5-7 overall) will open Rio Hondo League action by hosting South Pasadena on Sept. 26 at 4 p.m. before visiting San Marino on Sept. 28.

ST. FRANCIS

The Golden Knights lost at Arcadia 21-5 in a nonleague game on Sept. 12. St. Francis junior Nicholas Karamian scored four goals, junior Cooper Klosterman had one goal and junior Donovan Esquivel recorded seven saves.
SFHS recently collected a pair of nonleague wins over El Rancho, 18-8, and West Covina, 13-10, after suffering a loss against Sunny Hills High of Fullerton, 14-5. Individual statistics were not reported to the Outlook Valley Sun by the St. Francis coaching staff.
The Golden Knights (2-6 overall, 0-2 in league) will visit visiting Hoover High in Glendale for a nonleague game on Sept. 22 at 3:30 p.m. before visiting Pasadena Polytechnic on Sept. 23.

FLINTRIDGE PREP
The Wolves have been not played a match since defeating visiting St. Francis 22-12 in a nonleague game on Sept. 8.
Flintridge Prep (5-5 overall) will open Prep League action by hosting Pasadena Polytechnic on Sept. 27 before clashing with La Salle College Preparatory of Pasadena on Sept. 29.
