YMCA Celebrates 32 Years With Prayer Breakfast

This past weekend, the YMCA of the Foothills shared a morning of light and prayer with more than 150 attendees at its 32nd Annual Community Prayer Breakfast. The event was presented by Citizens Business Bank and joined by a generous community of sponsors who helped raise close to $60,000 that benefits the Y’s Chaplain Service Program.
The Prayer Breakfast took place at the upper parking lot of the Crescenta-Cañada Family YMCA branch where the sunrise and live music welcomed guests to a gathering of neighbors and friends. Comedian and actor Ron Pearson served as the event’s emcee while keynote speaker, Father Tony Marti of St. Francis High School graced the crowd with his life experiences and knowledge.
For more than 30 years, the success of the Y’s prayer breakfast has been instrumental to its continuing efforts to create a place of belonging for all. Through the Chaplain Service Program the Y is able to provide spiritual wellness that is free of charge for everyone in the service area — including non-YMCA-members. The Samuelson Chapel located at the Crescenta-Cañada Family YMCA is open and available to everyone any time the facilities are open. Cameron Rose, the Y’s Chaplain and Community Outreach Specialist, leads the program and is available to schedule one-on-one meetings with those needing a listening ear or prayer.
