Lutheran Church: Anthem Chorale Returns

Singing is good for the mind, body and spirit, according to researchers at the University of Oxford. Music exercises the brain, improves breathing, posture and can even relieve muscle tension, and choirs can do all that and help people forge social bonds quickly.
These benefits are now available at the Lutheran Church in the Foothills with its Anthem Choral, which performs each Sunday during the 10 a.m. worship service. The choir is open to anyone in the community wanting to join.
Led by Music Director Mark Anzelon, the choir meets for rehearsals at 9:15 a.m. on Sundays. No prior experience is necessary, just a desire to learn and have fun.
Additionally, Pastor Rick Hall continues to hold his Thursday prayer breakfasts at the McDonald’s in LCF. After ordering breakfast, attendees can head to the rear dining area at 9 a.m. on Thursdays for food, fellowship and prayer.
LCIF would also like to remind the community of its ongoing food drive to help feed the hungry. Canned goods can be dropped off during Sunday worship or anytime at the church’s office. They will be distributed to the food pantry at Heart of the Canyon Church in Tujunga.
Visit lcifoothills.org for event details. For more information or to request/offer help, email office@lcifoothills.org, or call (818) 790-1951. The church is located at 1700 Foothill Blvd. Office hours are 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., Monday through Friday.
