The La Cañada High School varsity boys’ water polo team lost at Malibu 12-7 in the first round of the CIF Southern Section Division IV playoffs on Oct. 31.
Senior lan Wipfli recorded four goals and four steals, junior Alexander Abramian tallied three steals and two goals, and junior Tait Landswick finished with five steals and one goal. Junior Beckett Chung registered eight saves and two steals, while freshman Landon Karlich had five steals.
The Spartans concluded the campaign fourth in the Rio Hondo League with a 2-6 record (11-16 overall).
FLINTRIDGE PREP
The Wolves lost to visiting Etiwanda 19-9 in their CIF Southern Section Division III opener on Oct. 31.
Aram Kedeshian recorded seven saves, Charlie Simonian and Ridley Tolleson each scored two goals, and Carson Ho, Elliot Oakes, Carter Morrell, Advait Kartik and Nicho Dermovsesian each added one goal.
Flintridge Prep finished the season as the Prep League runner-up with a 6-2 record (14-16 overall).
