La Cañada Presbyterian Hosts Alternative Christmas Market

La Cañada Presbyterian Church will host its annual Alternative Christmas Market this December. This event provides opportunities to purchase gifts that make a difference locally and internationally. Representatives from 24 local and global nonprofit organizations will host tables in the church hall on Sundays, Dec. 3 and 10, so that people can learn more about their life-changing work.
Shoppers can purchase “alternative gifts” such as: tools for medics on jungle missions in Burma, meals for the unhoused in L.A., tuition scholarships for students in the developing world, or counseling for moms and children trying to rebuild their lives in Pasadena. Shoppers receive a card describing the organization they supported that can be gifted in different ways, perhaps as a hostess gift, a stocking stuffer, or end of year appreciation. All gift purchases are considered tax-deductible donations.
People from the community are welcome to stop by the market tables after LCPC’s 9 a.m. traditional and 10:30 a.m. contemporary worship services (from 10-10:30 a.m. and 11:30 a.m.-12 p.m.) on Dec. 3 and 10. An online option is available as well at lacanadapc.org/market. Gifts can be purchased through Dec. 31.
